Carla HERRIG

As a fashion and knitting designer, I love working between the dimensions of 2D and 3D, embracing a graphic aesthetic. The FLUX project represents my ongoing exploration of the interplay between surface and volume, whether in the presence or absence of the body. The focus lies on the technique of short rows in knitting, allowing for a direct engagement with volume. This innovative approach to clothing production utilizes the industrial technique of 3D knitting on household machines, enabling the creation of intricate designs while eliminating the need for traditional pattern cutting and significantly reducing waste. Flux embodies my contemporary approach to design, blurring the boundaries between fashion, textile art, and graphics, all while emphasizing sustainable practices
